Bio
ALAN ECHENBERG
I was a senior producer and Ottawa bureau chief for a public broadcaster from 1998 until 2010. I was a member of the Parliamentary Press Gallery even longer – from 1994 to 2011. In my seventeen years as a journalist on Parliament Hill, I produced dozens of field documentaries and hundreds of studio interviews and discussions. I’ve covered six federal elections, one referendum, one ice storm, one Grey Cup, one Alanis Morissette concert, one hot-air balloon festival, several playoff collapses by the Ottawa Senators, and many other stories. I once rode in an elevator with Sophia Lauren. Another time, I rode in an elevator with Joe Clark. Mordecai Richler once asked me if I had a light, but I didn’t. Brian “Killer” Kilrea once offered me a piece of cheese. Somewhere in there, my efforts on one particular show helped win a Gemini Award.

I’m really impressed with your blog and want to encourage you to keep posting.
