The international military mission in Afghanistan, well into its eighth year, continues to make headlines. Sadly, those headlines are often due to new casualties or new assessments of an uncertain future for the conflict and for the country.
Several months ago, my colleague David Erwin and I created an interactive Google Map to help understand the extent of international troop deployments in Afghanistan. It’s proven to be popular among web surfers, garnering more than 14,000 views to date.
